I’ve always had a passion for working with youth — guiding them, supporting them, and yes, teaching them how to feed themselves well without breaking the bank. That’s where this easy sausage pasta sauce comes in. It’s one of my favourite recipes to share because it’s simple, hearty, and far more budget-friendly than ordering takeout or DoorDash every night. With just a few basic ingredients, it comes together quickly and fills the kitchen with the kind of comfort that makes a place feel like home. Cooking doesn’t have to be complicated and this dish proves that anyone can make something delicious with a little time and heart.

Ingredients for
Easy Sausage Pasta Sauce

  •  2 pkgs Johnsonville Sausage (1 mild/ 1 hot)
  • 1 Onion
  • 1 Green Pepper
  • 1 pkg Mushrooms sliced or canned will do
  • 3 jars Pasta Sauce or Marinara
  • Italian Seasoning (optional)

How to Make
Easy Sausage Pasta Sauce

  1. Cook sausage, onion, pepper and mushrooms until meat is browned and veggies are soft.
  2. Drain fat from pan by spooning it out and discarding.
  3. Add pasta sauce. Allow to fully heat and come to a boil.
  4. Taste and add Italian Seasoning if necessary. Allow sauce to simmer until noodles are ready.
  5. Start boiling whatever type of pasta you like. I suggest tortellini or penne or even a traditional spaghetti noodle.
  6. Drain your noodles but DO NOT rinse them. Leave them sticky so the sauce sticks to the pasta.
  7. Add enough sauce to nicely coat the pasta. Put back on the stove to heat a few minutes and let the sauce meld into the pasta.
