Ingredients for
Edda's Clay Cooker Chicken

  • 1 2-3 lb. frying chicken
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Pepper (to taste)
  • Paprika (to taste)
  • 1 cooking onion
  • 3-4 carrots

How to Make
Edda's Clay Cooker Chicken

  1. Soak clay cooker in cold water for 1/2 hour
  2. Wash chicken and place in cooker with legs tied
  3. Sprinkle with salt, pepper and paprika and then add chopped onion and chicken bouillon
  4. Cook for 2 hours at 350°
  5. Add carrots and continue cooking for another 1 1/2 hours (you can take the lid off for the last 15-30 minutes if you want a browner, crispier skin)
