This is an alcoholic egg nog recipe that has been in our family since I was a kid. It has become my responsibility to make it each holiday season. It's the best! Sorry for the quarts but that shows you how old this recipe is. (Even in the US we use liter bottles for our alcohol!)

1 quart bourbon (a good quality bourbon is important)
4 ounces Meyers Rum
12 eggs
2 quarts of half & half
2 cups sugar
Separate eggs. Put yolks in serving bowl, at least one-gallon size.
Beat whites stiff then slowly add one cup of the sugar.
Beat the yolks until fluffy then add the other cup of sugar to the yolks.
Stir half of the bourbon slowly into the yolks. Stir constantly.
Add the whites and keep stirring slowly.
Add the rest of the bourbon. Then stir slowly for 20 minutes to "cook" the eggs.
Add the half & half.
Stir in the rum last.
Enjoy with nutmeg sprinkled on top!
