Cake Decorating Instructor, St. Clair College, Windsor, Ontario
Originally from Ukraine, Iryna has always had a deep passion for baking, a love rooted in family traditions passed down from her grandmother. Despite earning a degree in Acting and Performing Arts and spending six years in theatre, she never let go of her dream of creating beautiful, handcrafted pastries. From making cakes for friends and family at age 16 to running a small business delivering fresh cinnamon rolls, baking has always been at the heart of her journey.
After being forced to leave her home due to the war, she rebuilt her life in Canada, where her love for baking became a bridge to new opportunities. Now, as a Cake Decorating Instructor at St. Clair College in Windsor, she shares her skills and passion with aspiring bakers. Drawing from European traditions and her extensive experience in pastry arts, she teaches students the art of cake decorating—from fundamental techniques to intricate designs—while inspiring them with her story of resilience, creativity, and dedication to craftsmanship.
Her vision extends beyond the classroom, aiming to keep baking traditions alive, ensuring that every cake tells a story of culture, heritage, and love.
