Emily Mary (Morand) Neilson was born to Gilbert and Irene Morand. Emie was the youngest of 5 girls, Gladys, Pearl, Ethel, Norma and Emily. Emily was known to most people as Aunty Em and was the family matriarch for many years after her family all passed. She took on all her sister's children doling out many meals, butter tarts and lots of love and practical advice.
