Kelly knew that if there was one dessert guaranteed to make her husband Jake smile, it was her famous cherry pineapple dump cake. Simple to make yet bursting with flavor, this sweet and buttery treat had become a favourite in their home.

With just a few ingredients—juicy cherries, tangy pineapple, and a golden, buttery cake topping—this dessert practically made itself. As it baked, the fruity filling bubbled up beneath the crisp, buttery crust, filling the kitchen with an irresistible aroma.

Jake never waited long before grabbing a warm scoop, usually with a big dollop of ice cream. Sweet, easy, and always delicious, this dump cake was pure comfort in every bite!

Notes

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F and lightly grease the bottom and sides of a 9×13-inch cake pan.
  • Place the cherry pie filling on the bottom of the cake pan.
  • Dump the pineapple with its juice on top.
  • Sprinkle the cake mix over the pineapple. Do not mix!
  • Melt the butter and drizzle it over the cake mix.
  • Top with coconut and pecans or walnuts.
  • Bake for about 1 hour and 10 mins.
