Brooke Chittle’s signature sugar cookies were born out of a quest for something better—a cookie that actually holds its shape and tastes amazing. Tired of bland, overly soft recipes, she spent years perfecting this version, adding a cozy touch of cinnamon and just the right amount of vanilla.

The result? A soft, flavourful cookie that’s easy to share, fun to decorate, and has become a go-to for friends, family, and special occasions. Whether for birthdays, holidays, or “just because,” these cookies have earned their spot as a personal and client favourite.

Ingredients for
Brooke's Sugar Cookies With Warm Vanilla & Cinnamon

  • 2 cups salted butter, softened
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons cookie butter extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 large eggs
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 6 cups all-purpose flour
  • Optional: milk or additional vanilla (if dough is too dry)

How to Make
Brooke's Sugar Cookies With Warm Vanilla & Cinnamon

  1. In a stand mixer, combine softened butter, white sugar, and brown sugar. Cream on medium-high speed for 3 minutes, until smooth and fluffy.
  2. Mix in vanilla, cookie butter extract, cinnamon, and eggs. Beat until light and airy.
  3. Add baking powder and mix to combine.
  4. Slowly add flour, 2 cups at a time. Mix only until incorporated—avoid overmixing. Dough should be firm, but not dry. If needed, add a splash of milk or vanilla to bring it together.
  5. Roll dough on a floured surface and cut into shapes using your favourite cookie cutters.
  6. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 6 to 8 minutes, just until edges are set. Cookies should remain pale on top for the softest texture.
  7. Let cookies rest on the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Once cooled, decorate as desired or enjoy just as they are.
